Pastor Jeff Chappell, Senior Pastor
Pastor Jeff and his wife, Julie, joined GRBBC in October 2015 as Pastor and Administrator.
Jeff was raised in a Christian home in Florence, South Carolina and attended church at The Florence Baptist Temple. At the age of 8, he asked Jesus to be his Savior after a school chapel service. God directed him to attend Pensacola Christian College and continued to grow his desire to serve Him with his life. Jeff obtained a B.S. in Elementary Education and a M.S. in Educational Administration.
Jeff & his wife, Julie, met at PCC in 2002. They were married in 2006 and have five children. From 2008-2014, they served in the ministries of Grace Baptist Church and Wilmington Christian Academy in Wilmington, North Carolina. Jeff taught 4th grade at WCA for 6 years, directed the Summer Day Camp of 200 kids and 40 employees, and served as a Deacon. Julie was the Elementary Secretary and served as the Nursery Coordinator before becoming a stay at home mom. During our time in Wilmington, the Lord continued to grow us spiritually and allowed us to be discipled.
While we were content in our ministries at GBC, the Lord began directing us to become pursue missions in the West. We joined Northwest Baptist Missions as a full time Missionary Pastor and began deputation on weekends in 2012 while still working full time. Jeff went through the ordination process and was ordained at GBC in 2013. In 2014, we moved to Salina, Utah where Jeff served as an Assistant Pastor at Faith Baptist Church. He taught Sunday School, handled the church finances, started Faith Kids and created a church website. He also worked in the local elementary school and coached a community Kids Soccer Team. The Lord continued to direct our paths and led us to Green River Bible Baptist Church in August 2015. Jeff joined the GRBBC as Pastor and Administrator in October 2015. Pastor Chappell and his family are excited to be a part of this ministry, and are eager to see how the Lord will continue to grow His church. We desire to Reach our community with the Gospel of Jesus Christ, to Build up disciples for His Glory through relationships and discipling, and to Exalt our Lord and Savior.

Pastor Tim Swanson, Youth Pastor
Pastor Tim, and his wife, Courtney, joined GRBBC in January 2012. Tim's parents trusted in Christ about the time he was born and began taking him to church. He recalls hearing the Bible stories and being exposed to the truth of God’s Word. I was a "good kid," however around the age of 8 I went to bed but could not fall asleep because God was working on my heart. I knew that if I were to die I would not spend eternity in heaven but would be cast out into hell. I lay there that night scared about my eternal destiny. I asked my Mom if she could help me know the Truth. She opened her Bible and shared the Good News that Jesus paid the price for all my sin. That night I placed my dependence on Jesus and accepted Him as my Savior.
After my salvation as a young boy the Lord used my church’s missions conferences to stir in my heart a longing to be used by Him in whatever service necessary. However, it was not until my sophomore year in high school that I finally surrendered my will to His. It was during a chapel time at my Christian school where I made the decision to let God have my life. The invitation was a simple challenge; if we were willing to serve the Lord, we were asked to stay after and come up front and sign my assistant principal’s notebook with our name. I surrendered my life that day to whatever the Lord would have for me. I received my Bachelor’s degree from Bob Jones University in 2005 and after college the Lord allowed me to serve in several ministries including a camp and school in Hawaii and “Minutemen Ministries” until I was married in 2009. The Lord led us to Green River, WY through ministry opportunities we had with Minutemen Ministries and an evangelist friend who connected us with this ministry. The end of January 2012 we moved to WY to help with the youth ministry of Green River Bible Baptist Church.

Pastor Royce Fundell, Assistant Pastor
Pastor Royce and his wife, Jodi, were both raised in Illinois where they met in high school. They have been married since 2001 with 5 children and have been members of GRBBC since 2012.
I (Royce) was born again one Wednesday evening as a 22-year-old Sergeant of Marines. A friend had been praying for me and explaining the gospel to me for several weeks. Finally, it clicked, and I repented and asked Jesus to save me.
A few days after I trusted in Christ, a friend of Jodi’s came over and explained the gospel. Jodi asked Jesus to save her that same week. We were baptized together the following Sunday. We have served together in youth ministries, children’s ministries, hospital ministries, and military ministries. After leaving the military we moved to Green River. I attended Liberty University online and obtained a B.S. in Religion and a MDiv. in Military Chaplaincy. I was ordained in 2018 at GRBBC.
Our heart’s desire… Ezekiel 22:30 states “And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none.” We believe that God has gifted us with identifying those gaps in the ministry and standing in them. Join us!
